Our Programs Make Learning The Florida State Standards FUN!
High Touch High Tech programs are all designed with the Florida State Standards in mind. We know what the students need to learn in science. Each and every program addresses these standards. The teacher will be provided with a list of the standards that were met specific to the program they selected.

What Makes High Touch High Tech Unique?
We will transform your classroom into a Living Laboratory! Kids become a scientist and learn by doing the actual experiments. High Touch High Tech offers fun and educational 50-minute AND 90-minute hands-on, in-school science fieldtrips. And because our programs are centered on the individual child's experience, many programs can be adapted, upon request, to meet the needs of other grade levels as well. Our experiments are structured to use materials that are safe and easy to identify. Students can duplicate many of these experiments at home with their parents.

What Children Say About Their "In-School" Field Trip
The most frequently heard testimonials from the children are "This was the BEST field trip ever!" or "I'm going to be a scientist just like you!" Parents and teachers will all agree that the children will talk about their High Touch High Tech science experience for years to come!

High Touch High Tech of South Florida is compliant with the guidelines for fingerprinting and background checks. We also work directly with the school's bookkeeper to ensure that all the correct paperwork is filled out for our visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a program and what information should I have ready?
A program may be booked by calling our programming office at 800.639.7923 or 561.792.3785, e-mailing us at info@ScienceMadeFunSFL.net or faxing us at 561.792.3786. Please have ready the program name(s), # of classes, # of children per class, grade level and possible dates for your program(s).

What happens after I book?
A letter will be sent to your school to the scheduling teacher as well as a copy of that letter to the bookkeeper. The letter will contain all the details of the program including date(s), time(s), program name(s), and fee(s). The bookkeeper will also receive a letter with all our scientists' names and a statement that every scientist has been fingerprinted and had a background check as per County guidelines. If a contract for services is required, one will be sent to the bookkeeper at this time.

Will I get a reminder for the program?
Our office manager will call the school 1 week prior to the program as a reminder of our visit. There is no need to respond to this call; it is simply a reminder. Please keep in mind that if the program needs to be cancelled, please do so at least 14 days prior to programming date to avoid a $50.00 cancellation fee.

How long are the programs and how can I fit them in a school day?
We offer 50-minute programs and 90-minute programs. Depending on the programming you choose, we can fit up to 3 90-minute programs per day or 6 50-minute programs per day. We can typically start as soon as morning announcements are over and can present until a few minutes before dismissal. We need about 10-15 minutes (but no more than 30 minutes) in between programs.

Where does High Touch High Tech present the programs?
We come to your school and can conduct programs in the classroom, science lab or the multipurpose room. Students need to be seated at desks or tables in order to carry out the experiments.

Are programs adaptable to different grades?
Most programs are, unless the overall concept is beyond the grade level. Very often the experiments are the same but the explanation and depth of material are adapted.

How much does it cost?
Our 90-minute program fee is $7.50 per student with a minimum per class fee of $150.00. Our 50-minute program fee is $4.50 per student with a minimum per class fee of $90.00. We do charge a travel fee of $50.00 for travel to Martin County, Dade and Belle Glade area schools. Teachers and parents participate free of charge.

Who pays for High Touch-High Tech?
Parents or the PTA/PTO usually pay the fees. Schools currently receiving outside grants may use them for the programs.

How do we pay for the programs?
An invoice will be left with the bookkeeper at the end of the program. Payment is expected within 30 days. We accept cash or checks.

What does the scientist need from the teacher(s)?
Upon arriving in the office, the scientist needs a schedule of classes to visit with room numbers, teacher's names and a map of the school. A board to write on is useful for diagrams and vocabulary. Additionally, for insurance purposes, a representative from the school must be present during presentations.

How many scientists do the program?
Usually one scientist can comfortably run a program. Sometimes we may send additional help for special circumstances. We always welcome parent volunteers or the assistance of the teacher or the aides. This is not necessary, but a wonderful enhancement for our program. Parents and teachers enjoy the programs as much as the children.

Special concerns for children with allergies OR health issues?
We will make every effort to meet the needs of ALL children participating in our programs. Please advise us of any health or allergy concerns at the time of booking the program or as soon as possible. We never use nuts of any kind in our programs. In our "What's the Matter" program, we do use latex balloons, so a latex allergy should be brought to our attention prior to that program.

What if the principal or parents need further explanation of High Touch High Tech?
We enjoy an excellent reputation in the area's schools. We welcome calls from parents or principals to help them better understand our unique hands-on science program.
